Top 2 Peripherals To Gift This Christmas

Christmas is around the corner and there is nothing that will excite a geek more than computer goodies. We have outlined an assortment of computer peripherals that are among the best in their class. Though a little expensive to put your hard earned money in, it will surely make for a Christmas to remember.

Creative GigaWorks S750 700 Watts 7.1 Speaker (Rs. 31, 750)

This 7.1 speaker system from Creative is targeted towards hard core gamers and movie buffs. The addition in this 7.1 speaker set-up as compared to the now common 5.1 channel set-up is that it has two additional satellites that are used as rear channels. These extra channels are specially beneficial to gamers since 7.1 discrete channels can be rendered in PC games by Microsoft’s DirectSound and Creative’s EAX technology. By 7.1 discrete, we mean that the sound coming from each satellite is independent and not two channels have the same sound. All the seven satellites are two-way speakers i.e. they are meant to reproduce mids and highs with the bass left to the powerful 210 Watts RMS woofer. The satellites are built with a 3.5 inch polymer mid-range driver and a 1 inch titanium driver and are powered at 70 watts RMS each. It sports a wired control module that features an upmixing button, letting you toggle between off, 5.1 to 6.1 and 5.1 to 7.1 along with buttons for controlling the volume. One thing that annoyed us about the control module were the status LEDs. We would have appreciated a more informative text display as in the case of the Logitech Z5500. The s750 also comes with a remote. And if your don’t trust our opinion, take this — The s750 is certified to meet the rigorous performance standards of THX specifications.

Targus TSB408 Laptop Backpack ( Rs. 4,838)

Gone are the days when laptops were just accessible to high flying executives. Now even students use laptops. And the shoulder carry bag which makes you look like a salesman is definitely not something they would fancy. Enter the new breed of Laptop backpacks. They are trendy, pack in a lot more stuff and free both your hands. And when you actually get down to buying one, there is nothing that can beat Targus. In fact, almost all the HP and Compaq laptops bags are made by Targus. The Targus TSB408 is designed to fit, at the max, a 15.4 inch laptop. It comes with a padded computer compartment to protect your laptop and multiple other compartments to fit in every file or gadget you can think of, even your water bottle.
